Support in the sanitary room
Grab rails are obligatory - especially in the barrier-free bathroom. Because they offer users maximum safety and support in all areas of the sanitary room. At HEWI you will find secure grab rails for the following areas in the bathroom:
- Grab rails toilet
- Grab rails shower
- Grab rails washbasin
- Grab rails bathtub
- Grab rails bath
HEWI grab rails impress with their non-slip surface and cross-sections, which ensure a comfortable grip. This makes it possible to grasp the rails dynamically and comfortably, as well as to transfer force effectively. The bathroom grab rails – but also for public sanitary rooms – can be used easily, comfortably and flexibly by users. The design of the grab rails allows them to blend perfectly into their surroundings – filigree supports and flat roses underline the minimalist look. HEWI's grab rails are available in a wide range of materials, offering a wide range of design options.

Grab rails in showers and baths: quality is key
HEWI manufactures grab rails in a variety of materials. Particularly popular with architects and planners in the bathroom are grab rails made of high-quality polyamide or satin stainless steel. In the WARM TOUCH series, HEWI also uses a special coating: the chrome-optical coating process not only provides a high-quality, chrome-like appearance, but also a resistant surface. The other major advantage – particularly for older people and/or rheumatism patients who are sensitive to the cold – is the pleasantly warm feel. This is why architects and planners particularly like to use these grab rails in the care sector.
When choosing grab rails for the bathroom, shower and toilet, you should definitely look for high-quality products. Since grab rails in the bathroom are constantly exposed to different climatic conditions, quality really pays off here.
safety for all users
Why are grab rails so important in the bathroom?
Young people in particular may wonder why a bathroom needs grab rails. At this age, grab rails don't seem necessary. But young people benefit from them too. Grab rails are a lifesaver, especially on wet surfaces, because anyone can slip and hurt themselves in a slippery bathtub or shower. Grab rails are an essential part of a barrier-free bathroom. Senior citizens benefit from grab rails at the washbasin, toilet or in the bathtub.
Incidentally, they can be used in a wide range of places: they are not only suitable as grab rails in your own bathroom, but are also more than useful in public washrooms, in hotels and in professional care.
For every application scenario
What types of handrails are there?
There are a wide range of different types and designs of grab rail. In addition to grab rails for toilets and showers, there are also so-called angle rails.
Angle rails not only serve as a useful support, but also as a shower head holder. These are also available from HEWI in different versions in terms of material and length. At the same time, you as a planner or architect have new possibilities when designing a room.
With an L-shaped angle rail, which offers a second gripping level, users can support themselves not only horizontally but also vertically. When used with a fold-down support rail at the toilet, this is the standard solution in both the SIA 500 and the Ö Norm 1600 (the standards for Switzerland and Austria, respectively). Although the German DIN standard does not provide for this, the performance principle allows for such individual solutions.
