HEWI wins first place at ‘2024 bdia ausgesucht!’ for the magnetic shower head holder
HEWI, a leader in universal design, recently took first place in the ‘2024 bdia ausgesucht!’ competition. The innovative magnetic shower head holder impressed both the jury and the audience and was awarded first place in the ‘Inclusion’ category. This prestigious award recognizes the efforts of HEWI to combine functionality, aesthetics, and accessibility in a single product.

The jury justified its assessment as follows:
”The HEWI magnetic shower holder stands out with its innovative magnetic design, which allows for effortless one-handed operation. Its universal design ensures ease of use for everyone. The jury was particularly impressed by how this product increases showering comfort for people with limited mobility and thus makes a valuable contribution to inclusion. It also features simple height adjustment, thereby allowing the shower head holder to slide effortlessly. With intuitive one-handed operation, a 360° hinged cone-shaped holder, and the absence of traditional buttons and knobs, it greatly enhances usability. The timeless design and simple yet solid handling make the product a well thought-out solution that elegantly combines functionality, aesthetics, and accessibility.”
HEWI magnetic hand-held shower head holder—a new level of comfort
The innovative HEWI magnetic hand-held shower head offers greater ease of use and is an ideal universal design solution, especially for users with physical disabilities. It also features simple and easy height adjustment thanks to a magnetic function that allows for sliding of the shower head holder. With intuitive one-handed operation, a 360° hinged cone-shaped holder, and the absence of traditional buttons and knobs, it greatly enhances usability. The shower head holder is easy to use—even for those with motor limitations. Wet hands are no longer a concern because the traditional clamping mechanism has been replaced by the innovative magnetic system, thereby eliminating the need to apply pressure when adjusting the shower head holder.

2024 bdia ausgesucht!
The ‘bdia ausgesucht!’ competition offers members of the Association of German Interior Architects (bdia) a platform to present innovative and sustainable products. In 2024, 52 entries from 33 members were evaluated by a distinguished panel. In addition to the jury’s evaluation, there was an on-line vote in which design and architecture fans were able to vote for their favorites.
